Call bets

Call bets cover a slice of the wheel instead of a block of the table. The dealer places the chips for you; here one tap does it.

  • Voisins du zéro: 17 numbers around the zero, 9 chips.
  • Tiers du cylindre: 12 numbers opposite the zero, 6 chips on splits.
  • Orphelins: the 8 remaining numbers, 5 chips.
  • Jeu zéro: the 7 numbers closest to the zero, 4 chips.

Combining bets

Bets can be mixed freely in the same spin. Covering more numbers wins more often but never changes the house edge: every combination on a single-zero wheel still costs 2.70% on average.

Roulette bets: questions

What is a split bet in roulette?

A chip on the line between two neighbouring numbers on the table. It pays 17 to 1 if either wins.

What is the safest roulette bet?

An even-money bet such as red, which wins 48.65% of spins; with La Partage at a French table its edge falls to 1.35%.

Can you bet on 0?

Yes, as a straight up at 35 to 1, or with its neighbours in splits, trios and the first four.
